Strategic Airspace Usage (SAU) Project:
The Strategic Airspace Usage Project will focus on technologies that operate within today's concept of operations, yet are also consistent with an evolutionary path to the future concept of operations. The goal of the Project is to develop selected technologies for airborne and surface planning to improve traffic flow management within the National Airspace System (NAS). The SAU products will include: (1) System-Wide Evaluation and Planning Tool (SWEPT) decision support tool (DST), initially developed in the Advanced Air Transportation Technologies (AATT) Project, (2) and advanced surface area domain DST, and (3) a collaborative traffic management (TM) DST, which can be used to enhance strategic traffic flow management (TFM) in the NAS. This Project continues through FY2009.
