spacer Efficient Flight Path Management (EFPM) Project:
The Efficient Flight Path Management Project will focus on the coordination of aircraft operations within the National Airspace System (NAS). The goal of the Project is to develop integrated air traffic management decision-support tools and advanced traffic management concepts to facilitate the modernization of the National Airspace System. The EFPM Project will leverage technologies defined in the Advanced Air Transportation Technologies (AATT) Project, focusing on interoperability of tools and their integration with more distributed traffic management concepts. EFPM products will include: (1) a multi-facility traffic management tool (e.g., regional metering, departure/arrival integration), (2) a descent trajectory advisory tool, and (3) an advanced routing tool (e.g., tactical, controller-side conflict probe). This Project continues through FY2009.
